21st Century Fox and Fox Audience Strategy Launch Fox Global Directors Initiative

New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA – June 30, 2014 – 21st Century Fox and Fox Audience Strategy today announced the launch of the Fox Global Directors Initiative, dedicated to championing diverse voices and perspectives spanning film, broadcast, cable and digital.

The multi-year Initiative will leverage the expertise and commitment of the Company’s leadership and creative talent across its entertainment businesses, including Twentieth Century Fox Television, FX, Fox Broadcasting Company, Twentieth Century Fox Film, Fox International Channels, and many of its international entertainment businesses, to select and mentor fellows from a vast and diverse pool of talent.  The Initiative will focus on cultivating emerging and established directors and amplifying female perspectives across features and episodic television.

In its inaugural year, the Fox Global Directors Initiative will partner with a wide range of creative and advocacy organizations as well as with 21st Century Fox’s entertainment businesses, to source talent of diverse backgrounds, visions and perspectives.  20 participants will be afforded the opportunity to further develop their skills and professional contacts.  The 10-month program will commence with an intensive, five-week Fox Directors Lab led by rotating mentors from the Company’s entertainment businesses as well as affiliated episodic and film directors.   Five finalists will be selected to advance through the remainder of the Initiative as Fox Director Fellows on current television and film productions.  The Initiative will culminate with each of the five Fox Director Fellows receiving production support and funding for a Fox-branded short.
