Fox Finalizes Acquisition of Significant Stake in Dutch Football Rights Holder EMM

Amsterdam – November 30, 2012 – FOX International Channels (FIC) and Eredivisie Media & Marketing CV (EMM) announced the formation of a long term partnership. Today, the Dutch Competition Authority (NMa) approved the proposed partnership and the parties have formally completed FIC’s acquisition of a 51% stake in EMM.

EMM is the media company established by the 18 clubs of the Dutch Premier League (Eredivisie), Endemol and KNVB (Dutch National Football Association) and is responsible for exploiting the collective media and sponsorship rights on behalf of Eredivisie.

In the context of the collective exploitation of live TV rights, Eredivisie unanimously decided on March 10, 2008 to take a new direction, and chose to set up their own football (soccer) channel in cooperation with Endemol: Eredivisie Live. During the 2010/11 season, the KNVB also joined the EMM partnership.
