Los Angeles, CA – October 30, 2017 – Twentieth Century Fox Film (TCFF) today announced the appointments of Andrea Miloro and Robert Baird to Co-Presidents of Fox Animation. In their new roles, Ms. Miloro and Mr. Baird will oversee Fox Animation, including direct oversight of Blue Sky Studios. Baird and Miloro will also collaborate closely with the leadership team at Locksmith Animation, the U.K.-based animation house that recently inked a partnership with TCFF.
The announcement was made jointly by TCFF Chairman, Stacey Snider, and Vice Chairman, Emma Watts, to whom Baird and Miloro will report.
Ms. Miloro and Mr. Baird will also be charged with growing Fox Animation via new partnerships with independent production companies and individual producers.
Mr. Baird will be based at Blue Sky’s headquarters in Connecticut, while Ms. Miloro will be splitting time between Connecticut and Los Angeles. Both appointments are effective immediately.
In a joint statement, Ms. Snider and Ms. Watts commented: “Andrea and Robert are the perfect team to lead Fox Animation into its next phase of growth. From creative chops to business acumen, their collective experiences will be invaluable assets to both our existing animation operations and the new opportunities that exist today in the marketplace. In addition, having them both on the ground at Blue Sky is vital given the importance of that studio to our future in animated film.”
Robert Baird made his mark as a screenwriter on some of the most popular animated hits of the past fifteen years. In 2001, he landed at Pixar, where he was a contributing writer on Pixar Animation Studios’ MONSTERS, INC. and Golden Globe®-winning CARS. He was the co-screenwriter of 2013’s MONSTERS UNIVERSITY. For Walt Disney Animation Studios, Baird’s credits include 2005’s CHICKEN LITTLE, 2007’s MEET THE ROBINSONS and the 2012 animated short TANGLED EVER AFTER. In 2015 he co-wrote the screenplay for BIG HERO 6 which earned an Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature. Most recently, he wrote the Blue Sky Studios’ feature FERDINAND to be released this December.
Andrea Miloro most recently served as Senior Vice President, Production at 20th Century Fox Animation. Prior to joining Fox, she served as Vice President, Head of Production at Sony Pictures Animation where she oversaw the making of OPEN SEASON (2006), Academy Award®-nominated SURF’S UP (2007), CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS (2009), HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA (2012) and OPEN SEASON 2 (2008). Earlier in her career, she was a Visual FX and Animation Producer on a variety of projects for 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., TriStar Pictures, Digital Domain and Rhythm & Hues.
